Sheep Stake Conference

So we were heading down the dirt road to Smith and Morehouse reservoir and had to pull over so my Brother in law could tighten the canoe when we notice that the sheep were all gathered together in bunches in the shade of the trees. Braeden said look my flocks of sheep. I noticed and said yes there are three groups of them and they all seem to be huddled together in the shade of the trees, do you think they are trying to stay cool. His reply caught me buy surprise and brought a big smile to my day. "No I think they are having a stake conference." "Stake conference huh, well what do you think they are saying. " Braeden "I think they are planning how to run over that house over there" Mom, "oh really!" Braeden then notices the other two groups of sheep and says "look mom another flock, and another"
"Yes Braeden there are three of them and see how they are all grouped under the shade of the trees that is why I said I thought they were trying to stay cool"
"Yeah you must be right, they are in the shade, they must be doing that. It can't be stake conference."
"Why you can't have stake conference in the shade?"
"no"
"Oh, what is stake conference anyway Braeden?"
"it's when you all get together and talk about things. That is why I thought they were having stake conference cause there is that house over there and they are all looking at it and they are all together."

Makes sense to me.

Best recipe ever!

Typically when I serve dinner I get phrases and complaints like "what is that?" "that is not what I wanted for dinner" "I don't like that" or my ever favorite "can we have scones?" Not tonight. Tonight I served homemade pizza on torrita's since I didn't have time to make real pizza crust. Griffin came up while it was in the oven to check and see if we were having lasagna. When I said no his countenance fell a little but then beamed into a smile when he discovered it was in fact cheese pizza instead. After one bite Braeden said "this is good, where did you get the recipe" This question was a little comical in itself but I couldn't help but smile after I told him that I made it up myself and he responded "What you made it yourself, it's your recipe. It's the best recipe ever!" Finally everyone was happy with dinner. It's nice to be appreciated. (especially after a week like this last one where everyone had been sick with the stomach flu and my stress level was through the roof!) Thanks Braeden for being kind and loving your mom!

The Picture Says It All

Isn't he too young to be making a face like that in response to a kiss? I guess having older brothers really does rub off on you.
