So the other afternoon we were heading out on an errand or something and I was carrying Finley in my left arm and opening the car door for Griffin with my right hand when i suddenly heard Braeden yell "HELP!" I turned to look (it was a genuine cry of Help with that concerned tone to it rather than just the normal help like you hear when they want help cutting pancakes or opening something) anyway there was Braeden hanging from the bottom of the Garage door as it was climbing higher and higher. I said "Braeden, What are you doing!" and grabbed him (as best I could with Finley still in my left arm) and told him how dangerous that was then I set him on the ground and said "What were you Thinking!!" His reply "well, I just wanted to have a little fun." I then explained the full dangers of garage doors and how we do not ever play with them or hold on to them or push the button to open or close them etc etc. Then after I calmed down a little I asked him how come he didn't just let go when he saw it was going to pull him off the ground? He said "it was going up too high too fast." then he explained that "it was kind of like flying huh mom" Luckily it only left a temporary mark on his fingertips where the metal rim and dug into his hand. Also I was happy to have a pad of paper in the car so I could write it down cause I started chuckling to myself right after I realized he was going to be ok.
Only problem is that a few days ago (only about a week after trying this and being warned to never ever ever do it again) we were heading out to the car and suddenly he stopped and looked right at the garage door as it was going up I said "Don't even Think about it Braeden" and he turned and looked up and me with the sly grin and big eyes and said "well i was just remembering it mom"

Calming song
I've been praying that I could be less quick to anger and more patient with my children lately and noticed the other day when I started to get real upset about something that Griffin suddenly started singing "I am a Child of God." It caught me off guard and instantly set my mood to calm. I thought "it's an answer to my prayer, its Heavenly Fathers way of reminding me that Griffin is a Child of God and I need to breath, calm down and respond in a more loving way" I asked Griffin why he was singing and he said cause he likes the song and that his teacher taught him to in nursery. Its funny cause for the past few days he has been singing it over and over and trying to learn it and I've been able to remind myself to stay calm and check my behavior over and over. Then today in sacrament meeting you should have seen Griffin's face beam in pride as he realized the closing song we were singing was I am a Child of God. He sung along and was so excited to be able to do so. What a true blessing! I'm am so thankful for a Heavenly Father who is mindful of me and is helping me to be a better mother and is mindful of my child and is helping make him happy as well.

Rhyme Time
Griffin is always breaking into little rhyme songs that typically are filled with jibberish words that he has made rhyme. Today while I was putting on my make up he suddenly started again with his songs but this time he got words to rhyme that were real and made me laugh.
Here it is
"Pokey. Pokey who.....? Pokey I like to Bar-Bee Q!" huh q and then he took off rhyming some more with q in mostly jibberish.
Funny! I don't think he even has a clue what a bbq is.

Silly Sayings
I'm always caught off guard by the little things my kids say for instance while watching the weather the other night Braeden suddenly turned to me and said "Mommy I just saw the news and it said its going to be 100 percent hot!" I laughed and explained that it said 100 degrees but agreed that there was no better description for 100 degrees than 100 percent hot.
A few days later Griffin said to "you silly baaboo" when I had done something he thought was silly. Where do they come up with this stuff?
